What we believe

What we believe

What we believe and why we believe it?

We believe in God:

We believe in the One True God. The Creator and Father, God. (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 6: 9), He is called by many names that describe His attributes and character, like Jehovah Jireh, the Lord God who Provides. (Genesis 22:14).

Also, God is one God, but exists and displays Himself in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (the word), and God the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit). (1 John 5:7, Ephesians 4:4-6, John 10:30).

We believe in Jesus Christ, (Jesus the Christ, The Messiah):

We believe Jesus is the Son of God, (Matthew 3:16, 17, Luke 1:35, John 3:16, 17). We believe in His virgin birth, (Isaiah 7: 14, Luke 1:26, 27), of His shed blood on the cross of Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins, (Matthew 26:28, Luke 23:33, Acts 20:28, Romans 5:9, 1 Peter 1:19,

Revelations 1:5) of His bodily resurrection, (Psalm 16:10, Matthew 16:21, Acts 2:23, 24, Acts 10:39-41, Acts 26:22, 23), and His ascension to the Father’s right hand in heaven, ( Mark 16:19, Hebrews 9:24, 1 Peter 3:22). ( 1 Corinthians 1:30, 31) .

We believe in the Holy Spirit, (the Holy Ghost):

We believe in the Holy Spirit also called the Holy Ghost. We believe He is part of God. (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit). The Holy Spirit is known by names that represent His work or job, (ie: Comforter, Teacher, Guide), ( John 14:16, 17, John 15:26, John 16:7, 13,14; Romans 8:9, 26, 27).

We believe in the Holy Scriptures:

We believe in the Holy Scriptures called The Holy Bible, (consisting of the Old & New Testament). As 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”:

We believe the scriptures are the Word of God, (Psalm 119:105). Heaven and earth may pass away, but my Word stands forever. Man cannot live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4).

We believe in Salvation:

John 3:16, Acts 20:20,21, Romans 10:9,10

We believe in the Water Baptism:

Matthew 3:11, Acts 2:38

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the Evidence of Speaking in Tongues:

Acts 1:8, 2:4, 9:17, 10:44-46, 11:15, 16, 19:6; 1 Corinthians 14:2, Jude 1:20

We believe in the Church:

We believe the Church was set up, established and ordained by God. He also calls His people the church, but we believe God also encourages and expects for His people to be a part of a physical body and place called Church, which is where the believers fellowship, and are taught and equipped to follow Jesus and do His work on the earth. Notice in the New Testament that the majority of the letters the Apostle Paul wrote, he wrote them to the leaders of a Church, (i.e. to the Church at Corinth, Church at Ephesus, Church at Philippi, Church at Colosse, Church at Thessalonica, etc.) Even in the book of Revelations when God told John to write down the visions He was giving him, God told John to send the writings not to individuals, but to the Seven Churches in Asia Minor. God is serious about us being a faithful part of a Church and not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together with other believers. Matthew 16:18, Acts 20:28, 1 Corinthians 3:10, Ephesians 3:21, Colossians 1:24, 1 Peter 2:5, Hebrew 10:25

We believe the Church is also called The Body of Christ:

Romans 12:5, 1 Corinthians 12:13, 27, Ephesians 1:23, 4:12, Colossians 1:24, 2:17,19

We believe The Spirit of God dwells in us and We are the Temple of God:

Romans 8:9, 1 Corithians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19, 2 Timothy 1:14

We believe in Prayer:

We believe in prayer. Prayer has been a vital part of the life and practice of everyone who has had any kind of relationship with God. It is a form of communication with God. In other words, it is talking to God, but it also includes becoming silent and listening to God as well. In Matthew 6:5-7, Jesus said, “When you pray.” In Luke 11:1, the Disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. Matthew 26:41, “watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation.” 2 Chronicles 7:14, “if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, seek my face, turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.” James 5:16b, “the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man availeth much.”

We believe in Fasting:

We believe in fasting because Matthew 17:21 says some things don’t go out except for by fasting and praying. The Old Testament Leaders believed in it. Read Isaiah 58, Jesus, the Disciples and New Testament Leaders believed in fasting too. Read Matthew 6:16-18, Jesus said when you fast not if you fast.

We believe in Giving (financially as well as giving of our time, talents and abilities):

We believe in giving tithes (which is giving at least 10 percent of all monies we receive. We believe at least 10 percent belongs to God according to Malachi 3:10, but we don’t have to limit ourselves to only giving 10 percent, considering we give the government 15-25 percent of our income before we even get it. So, we believe God deserves more. Therefore, we believe this is our duty, honor and privilege to give to God’s Church to help see it taken care of and doing what God has called it to do to help teach and minister to us all. We believe our tithe is to be given to the local Church that God plants us in and we receive our spiritual food from.

We also believe in giving offerings, (which is different from the tithe and any amount after and above the tithe or 10% is given). Giving was also something we were expected to do. Matthew 6:3,4, says when ye give alms, not if you give, (that was giving offerings, money to help be a blessing). In Acts 10, it states that Cornelius’ prayers and his alms (giving) came up before God, as a memorial unto him and God sent an angel to answer his prayer because of it. Some people

don’t believe in paying tithes or giving 10%, but we do because the Word encourages us to and because we have done it for more than 25 years, (way before becoming leaders), and God has provided for us, taken care of us, made ways for us and blessed us abundantly because of our obedience. Matthew 25:14-28, Luke 6:38, 2 Corithians 9:6-8

We believe in Showing Forth our Praise and Worship:

Clapping hands, dancing, singing, crying, shouting, leaping, kneeling, jumping, twirling, playing instruments, etc. 2 Samuel 6:14, Psalm 33:2, Psalms 47:1, Psalms 63:4, Psalm 95:1, Psalm 100, Psalm 150, Acts 3:8, Ephesians 5:19, James 5:13, 1 Peter 2:9

We believe in the Fruit of the Spirit and the Gifts of the Spirit:

Galatians 5:22,23, Ephesians 5:9,10, Romans 11:29, Romans 12:6, 1 Corinthians 12:4, 7, 1 Corinthians 14:1, Ephesians 4:8

We believe in the importance of living by Faith:

Mark 5:34, Matthew 8:10, Matthew 9:29, Matthew 15:28. We believe the just shall live by faith, (confidence, trust in, and reliance on God). Proverbs 3:5,6, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38. We believe God has given to everyone the same measure of faith from the beginning, but it is up to us to develop what we have been given. Romans 12:3, Luke 17:5, Romans 10:17, Hebrews 11:1. We believe, according to the scriptures, that without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6. We believe faith is a weapon given to us by God to fight successfully against the enemy, Ephesians 6:16, 1 Timothy 1:19, 1 Timothy 6:12.

We believe in Healing:

Spiritual and physical. Both medically and divinely, (supernaturally).

Psalms 107:20, Isaiah 53:4, 5, Matthew 8:16,17, James 5: 14,15, 1 Peter 2:24, 3 John 1:2

We believe in the Laying on of Hands:

Laying on of hands was used to anoint, sanctify, or consecrate something or someone, (meaning to set something or someone apart, or separate something or someone as Holy to God). Laying hands was used to bless someone or something. It was used to commission, anoint, ordain, set someone in a position, recognize a calling on a life, or send them forward into ministry. And laying on of hands was used for impartation and to release the anointing and power of God to heal the sick. Leviticus 4:14-16, Leviticus 16:20-24, Matthews 19:13-15 & Mark 10:13-16, Mark 6:5, Mark 16:18, Luke 4:40, Luke 13:12,13, Acts 6:6, Acts 19:6, Acts 28:8, James 5:14, 1Timothy 4:14, 1 Timothy 1:6,

We believe in the Resurrection of the Dead:

We believe in the Resurrection of the just and unjust; one to everlasting life and one to everlasting damnation, ( Matthew 25:46, 27:52, 53)

We believe in the Second Coming of Christ:

(Matthew 26:64, 1 Thessalonians 1:10;1 Thess 4:16, 17).

We believe our Development and Transformation into who God created us to be Starts by accepting Christ into our life, continues through the Renewing of our Minds By the Studying of the Word of God, Listening to and Learning of Jesus from the Holy Spirit and Spending Time with the Father through Prayer, Praise and Worship.

Matthew 4:4, Romans 12:1, 2, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 5:22-24, Colossians 3:10, 2 Timothy 2:15, Hebrews 5:11-14, 1 Peter 2:1-3
